News Event: Racial Slurs being spread across campus

"Westfield State University’s president says the college is investigating an incident in which racial slurs were written on the door of a student’s dorm room. The racist and sexist messages were found on the same student’s dorm room door three separate times this semester." (22 news)

The school is trying to increase diversity by being active member in movement groups such as black lives matter. Essentially their goal is to create a positive and comforting college experience for all students. The motives from the black lives matter movement on campus involves standing up for yourself and helping each other to overcome any racial challenges.

In regards to the owl fight back movement, the school's student body is encouraged to come together as one whole population to help eradicate not just racial problems, but any on-campus problems in general. This movement is also trying to create a family type bond within the University to have students help each other out, as shown in the famous quote on campus, "each one reach one, each one teach one."
